OUR SERVICES FOR CARERS

 

We provide a short break respite service free of charge.  The minimum amount of time we provide is one hour – the average is generally 2-3 hours per week, but this is not a limit.  What we can provide depends on the funding situation at the time and staff availability but we have provided 48 hour cover for carers to have a weekend away, 36 hour cover for a carer who had a short stay in hospital, and daily cover for a short period for the carer to have a break.

 

We can provide:

 

Daytime

Time for the carer to carry out essential tasks, attend appointments, do shopping, tax the car or even just have a few hours peace and quiet.

 

Recreational

Recreational breaks for the carer to attend courses, pursue hobbies, meet friends, have a day, or sometimes longer, away from the house.

 

Working Carers

Along with family, friends and private agencies, to assist in supporting carers who are in employment, who wish to return to employment, or who wish to train for a return to work.

 

Overnight

We offer an overnight service but are constantly seeking funding for this as it is much in demand.
